Oman Collegiate Programming Contest 2014

The Department of Computer Science at Sultan Qaboos University invited the information systems department to the Oman Collegiate Programming Contest 2014 under the auspices of The Association of Computing Machinery (ACM).

The OCPC provides college students an opportunity to demonstrate and sharpen their problem solving and computing skills in addition to a chance to meet fellow students from other universities in the region. The contest fosters creativity, teamwork, and innovation in building new software programs, and enables students to test their ability to perform under pressure. Furthermore, OCPC models the ACM ACPC and hence providing an excellent preparation opportunity for participating teams in the ACM regional and world programming contests.

The Teams were given a set of eight to twelve problems to try to solve using JAVA, C or C++ on a single computer.

Oman Collegiate Programming Contest 2014

To represent University of Nizwa, the students from Department of Information Systems participated in the competition. The following Bachelor degree students participated and learnt many things.
