Dhad Institute celebrates its Second Cultural Program for the academic year 2016\2017Under the slogan “Better with Arabic,” Dhad Institute for TASOL celebrated the opening of its second Cultural program for the academic year 2016/2017 last Monday. The program is a part of the events of the Cultural Session that the University organizes every year. The celebration was sponsored by Dr. Saleh Bin Mansour Al-Azri, Vice President for Student Affairs and Community Service, and in the presence of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Fakhreddin Abdulmatti, President of Kolej Universiti Insaniah (KUIN) of the Republic of Malaysia, and Professor Abdul Ghani, Dean of College of Arabic Language at Insaniah University, and in the presence of a number of students, academics, and preventatives of institutions of teaching Arabic language to non-native speakers in the Sultanate. The celebration started with reciting a Quranic verse by the student, Rafid from the Kingdom of Denmark. Then impressed by the audience, a student from the Republic of China named Basil,recited a poem. Dr. Ghassan Al Shatter, Director of Dhad Institute for TASOL, delivered a speech in which he pointed out to the vision, mission, objectives that Dhad Institute seeks to achieve. He also explained the levels and programs that the Institute offers to students and future plans, such as preparing diploma program to non-native Arabic speakers. After that, they took a tour through the facilities of the university. Their first destination was the Main Library and they attended Arabic Calligraphy Workshop where they were received by Professor Ali Mazyd, Supervisor of calligraphy. An explanation of types of fonts was provided throughout the entire tour. Finally, the delegation visited the Art Workshop, in which they were introduced to artworks that the students at the University have produced. During the tour, the delegation headed to the Presidency of the University where they were given the speech by Dr. Abdul-Aziz bin Yahya Al Kindi - Vice President for Academic Affairs and Secretary General of the Board of Trustees of the University. The delegation was introduced to issues related to academic affairs and scientific research. It is undoubtedly that the celebration is part of the Cultural Season Program that the University provides to the colleges and the institutions for them to be able to gain knowledge . The celebration was organized for the students activities, such as The Center for Students Excellence that helps in the success of the events the University has to offer to students. At the end of the day, the students who participated in the course, the sponsors of the Institute, and the language partners were held honored.
