DHAD institute offers customized courses based on the institution/students needs and circumstances. Customized courses includes four different options depending on the numbers of hours and the number of students: (1) Customized A is the less costing, this course requires minimum number of seven students studying a minimum of 15 hours per month, (2) Customized B , this course is for a minimum of seven students studying up to 10 hours per month, (3) Customized C , minimum of 15 hours per month for a group of two to five students only, (4) Customized D , up to 10 hours per month for a group of two to five students only and (5) One-on-One , Each student only takes the course and choose between the following two options:
Arabic for general purposes at DHAD Institute for TASOL consists of nine levels as shown in Table 1 below. Please note that an absolute beginner (never learnt Arabic) enrolled in the regular full time course needs one academic year to complete the nine levels, while part time students needs two academic years. The nine levels also applies to students enrolled in one of the customised courses. However, the duration in which an absolute beginner completes the nine courses depending on their time plans (i.e. number of hours, days, weeks, etc.) By the end of advanced 3, students proficiency in Arabic will be the equivalent of Advanced High by ACTFL (American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages) proficiency guidelines, and B2+ by CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) proficiency framework. Courses within this category focus on language for special purpose (e.g. Arabic for nursing, business, media, etc.), and they fulfill the learners' special needs. They may fulfill limited needs such as learning the arabic language mainly for tourism, where learners will learn few phrases, some cultural aspects, or bigger needs such as learning the language to write articles in a newspaper, or being able to read and understand news article report, either printed or watched. Some of the category in the courses require a specific level of proficiency in Arabic, learners who wish to take them will need to meet the entry requirements. Students have access to all the university facilities including labs, library, restaurants etc. Internet service is available only on campus, however, social media websites are limited to written communication, voice or video calls are not possible.
