THE UNIVERSITY OF NIZWA is located in the Dhakhiliya province at the historical gateway to the interior of Oman.  Surrounded by the rugged Western Hajar Mountains, our campus in Birkat Al-Mouz provides a stunning backdrop to inspire students and faculty alike.  In fact, the village stands at the entrance to Jabal Al-Akhdhar.  The Dhakhiliya is famed for its many forts, icons of the desert landscape, and also for its dates.  Recreational activities include hiking in the neighboring wadis, off-roading, caving, and touring historical sites.
