Preparing for the Start of Classes and Approving Your Timetable

When teaching at the university begins, students are expected to have finalized their accommodation and transportation arrangements. You must ensure that you approve your timetable on Eduwave on the first day. Instructors will only allow students into the classrooms once students approve their timetables. Failing to approve your timetable on the first day will result in your being marked absent and missing parts of your courses. You will be barred from the final exam if you do not approve your timetable on time and will have to repeat the course. For scholarship students, this may result in the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation to freeze your scholarships.

From the first day, you are expected to:

  • Arrive to your classrooms 5 minutes before the start of class.
  • Bring your notebook and stationery.
  • Bring your calculator for mathematics courses.

Your teacher will present you with a Teaching and Assessment Plan, outlining the course requirements, assessment methods, advising and attendance policies, weekly schedule, and their office hours. It is important to know your teachers’ names and office locations. Make sure to use their office hours to get help with anything you do not understand or need assistance with, as your instructors act as your academic advisors.
