Classroom Behaviour

The university has established policies to maintain a conducive learning environment. Instructors are authorized to address any violations. The following behaviours are prohibited and will be penalized according to university rules and regulations:

  •   Arriving more than 5 minutes late to class.
  •   Eating or drinking in the classroom.
  •   Speaking languages other than English unless permitted by the instructor.
  •   Failing to bring required study materials.
  •   Brining non-class members to the classroom.
  •   Using mobile phones (must be turned off during class).
  •   Leaving the classroom without permission.
  •   Sleeping during class.
  •   Using inappropriate language.
  •   Writing on walls, tables, or unassigned areas.
  •   Leaving trash in the classroom.
  •   Refusing to participate in class activities.
  •   Interrupting the instructor.
  •   Making physical contact with anyone in the classroom.
  •   Vandalizing furniture or equipment.
  •   Holding unauthorized parties or celebrations.
  •   Leaving personal belongings in the classroom without permission.

Penalties will be enforced if a student refuses to cooperate.
