Alongside Oman Vision 2040, the College of Health Sciences aims to empower individuals’ capabilities in the health sciences educational sector, nurtures scientific research, and creativity to build a knowledge-based society. Functioning based on the vision and mission of the University of Nizwa, CHS strives towards excellence in the health education sector in the Sultanate of Oman.

CHS has established its strategic and operational plans based on five pillars: academic distinction, innovative solutions in healthcare research, experiential learning and evidence-based practice, strong regional presence, and empowering team culture.

An inclusive high-quality educational system in pharmacy and nursing with community partnership that builds competitive national talents, who can also be accepted globally, will be the ultimate strategic direction of CHS. The faculty of both Pharmacy and Nursing departments are unique and dynamic with international experience, an outstanding national reputation for research and scholarship, who fosters critical thinking and lifelong learning in the student’s community.

The programs offered at CHS are based on a strong and contemporary curriculum emphasizing the widespread needs of the community through the inherent theory and practice sessions. Theory and practice are integrated through classroom teaching, skills laboratory sessions, and clinical placements in hospitals, health centres, polyclinics, the community, and industries. The students acquire knowledge, skills attributes, and technological competency in health care and will be able to meet the challenges of providing quality health care in the field of their specialization.
