The Health and Safety Office plays an essential role in supporting the University operation and services، it's committed to advancing the University community's health and safety culture with effective programs of personal safety, accident and injury prevention, wellness promotion, and compliance with related rules and regulations.

Health and safety office responsibilities:

Identify, assess and mitigate health and safety hazards and encourage faculty, staff, and students to report potential hazards, near-miss and/or accidents.
Promoting health and safety culture of the University staff, students, contractors, consultants and visitors.
Providing necessary information and good communication channels to the University community about health and safety hazards and the appropriate corrective and preventive measures.
Apply the national health and safety standards and comply with the requirement of relevant legal rules and regulations in order to minimize / eliminate the health and safety risks at work place.
Plan, organize, develop and implement various health and safety training and awareness workshops to establish and develop health and safety culture among the University community.
Ensure that all health & safety policies, procedures, forms, rules and regulations are adhered to and are regularly reviewed, updated and communicated.
Organize and follow-up regular meetings with the University and Colleges / Centers health and safety committees to evaluate, analyze and improve health and safety procedures and facilities at the working place and ensure that all agreed action plans are completed and within deadlines.
Perform accident / incident investigations to identify root causes and provide recommendations and follow up its effectiveness to reduce or eliminate future occurrence.
Contribute in hazardous, medical and regular waste disposal management to ensure its adherence to local / international legislation, regulations and standards.
Contribute in managing / approving various services, facilities and supplies related to campus health and safety to ensure their compliance to related legislation, regulations and standards for new and renovation projects, systems and services.
