This program contributes to the pharmaceutical industry in Oman and across the globe. The program objectives are to:

Provide students with the fundamental knowledge and skills necessary for a successful entrance into the pharmaceutical industry

Equip students with critical thinking skills, knowledge in the elements of pharmaceutical sciences, and research opportunities within the pharmaceutical sciences

Develop the graduate`s capability to determine the future demands of drug delivery and be able to meet them

Foster problem solving and decision-making skills in enhancing the activities of the pharmaceutical Industry

Prepare graduates for advanced study in the field of pharmaceutical science or related fields

Apply knowledge to perform data interpretation, drug molecule characterization, preparation and evaluation of dosage forms applicable to specific pharmaceutical manufacturing projects

Develop student`s oral and written communication skills, along with their teamwork abilities

A. For Bachelor`s Degree Candidates

A bachelor`s degree in pharmacy or equivalent degree including biotechnology, biomedical sciences, pharmacology, chemistry, and biology from a recognized university with a cGPA ≥ 2.5 on a 4.0 grade scale and a work experience of three (03 years) in a pharmaceutical/related industry

Admission into the MSIP research year necessities cGPA ≥ 3.0 on a 4.0 grade scale

Bachelor`s degree candidates/equivalent degree who have a cGPA of ≥ 2.3-2.49 on 4.0 grade scale and no work experience are only eligible for PGDipIP certificate. A cGPA of ≥ 2.75 on a 4.0 grade scale is a must to exit with PGDipIP

B. For Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) Candidates

A PGDip (degrees as per clause 1) from a recognized university with a cGPA ≥ 3.0 on a 4.0 grade scale and a work experience of two (02) years in a pharmaceutical/related industry

PGDipIP candidates who attains a ≥ 2.75 but have ≤ 2.99, need to take remedial courses to attain a cGPA ≥ 3.0 on a 4.0 grade scale to continue to research year of the MSIP

C. English Proficiency and Other Requirements

English proficiency testified with a minimum TOEFL score of 530 or IELTS level 06
