HoD'S Message

The financial impetus in the Sultanate of Oman stipulates the beginning of a resilient economic transformation. To achieve sustainable development we need strong accounting and auditing system. The Accounting Department focuses on continuous research and ensures that proper accounting skills are inculcated and nurtured to better manage and control the business and economy.

We at the accounting department offer Diploma and Bachelors in Accounting. The major courses offered are Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Cost Accounting, Auditing, International Accounting, Taxation, Accounting for Special transactions and Internship in Accounting. We constantly update our curriculum as per the international higher education trends and market demand. The college membership in the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) marks our endeavor to keep accounting department at par with the international standards.

Our graduates have the opportunity to work in Banks, Insurance companies, Auditing and taxation firms, Industries and government offices. Apart from this we encourage our students to become entrepreneurs. At the Accounting Department, we are also very proud of our alumni as they occupy significant positions in reputed companies like Oman Air, PDO, Ministry of Health and many other Industries.

Objectives

The Department of Accounting aims to:

1. Cultivate an integrated knowledge of various functional areas of accounting, analytical and applied skills to succeed in local and global business environment.
2. Develop qualified accounting professionals with expertise in accounting and auditing standards who are ready to handle accounting tasks independently.
3. Promote research to develop their professional knowledge and skills in accounting to meet the need of sustainable development and growth of the community and country as a whole.
4. Train them for an effective role as Accountants, Auditors, and Management Accountants and Financial analysts with a clear and profound sense of professionalism, transparency, accountability and ethical values.
5. Develop a culture of quality assurance through continuous improvement and effective implementation of all department programs and activities.
