Foundation of Nursing Skills Laboratory

In line with the learning outcomes of Foundation of Nursing I and II, the Foundation of Nursing Skills Laboratory introduces the fundamentals of nursing practice to the students. Procedures basic to the discipline and practice of nursing are taught in a continuum from lower to higher level fundamental skills such as hygiene care,  taking vital signs, lifting, positioning, intake and output monitoring, asepsis , wound dressing, suture removal, drug administration, administration of IV fluids, and many others.

Also, the Foundation of Nursing Skills Laboratory is utilized for the laboratory component of Health Assessment. The nursing care process is introduced to the students. During their laboratory sessions, the students are trained to take health history and conduct physical assessment and practice their skills in organizing and presenting health data as basis for formulating nursing diagnoses/nursing problems, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care.
