 Architecture and Design at the University of Nizwa has become a landmark in architectural education. The Department of Architecture and Interior Design stands out in creativity as an amalgamation of architectural, cultural and technological achievements in Sultanate of Oman.  Architecture is the foundational framework through which we look at the achievements of our nation and the extent of progress and development. So, the Department of Architecture and Interior Design at the College of Engineering and Architecture in University of Nizwa came up with ambitious plans to meet this national need to commence this creative academic Department of Architecture and Interior Design to meet the needs of the local and Arab job market by the graduates with specialized talents in the field of architecture and interior design. Architecture and Interior Design Department will boost students by latest 3D software Programs with architectural design and modern construction technology to integrate with Oman's urban heritage as a basic source for creating local architectural identity that responds to local environment conditions and interacts with them by increasing building efficiency and reducing energy consumption to found sustainable architecture for Omani society.

Objectives

The Department of Architecture and Interior design aims to:

1. To graduate architects who are capable in both theoretical and practical aspects.
2. To play their creative role in shaping the built environment taking into consideration the social context and the modern technology.
3. In order to achieve this objective, courses are designed to include humanities, basic science and engineering courses and design, in a progressive and logical manner..
4. Horizontal integration as well as vertical integration is maintained among interrelated topics..
5. Elective courses are offered in order to provide a wide range of alternatives..
