The Office of the Assistant Dean for Research, dean and departments are all work together implementing the research strategies of college of engineering and architecture. Our objectives are to achieve research excellence, promote collaboration, partnerships with the industry and society to strengthen socio-economic impact, focus on quality basic and applied research in strategic fields of importance to Oman society, acknowledge research support and award research achievements of research cluster groups in CEA., ensure academic honesty in the conduct of research, encourage participation of students in research and encourage staff to participate in consultancy services.

Finally, we wish our faculties and students all the success for their research works at the College of Engineering and Architecture and prosperous future.

Vision

College of Engineering and Architecture (CEA) aims to pursue research which is recognized nationally, regionally and internationally in its quality and has significant impacts on education, social and economic development of Oman.

Mission

The College of Engineering and Architecture shall the necessary infrastructure for research to produce high-quality research. It shall produce innovative research of international quality with a strong focus on practical research including national research priority to produce high impact research outcomes.

Research objective

1. Encourage CEA staff to apply for research grants (internal and external)
2. Support Staff engaged in research
3. Ensure academic honesty in the conduct of research and Implement plagiarism policy
4. Encourage participation of students in research
5. Encourage staff to participate in consultancy services

Research overview

The values of the University of Nizwa emphasize the promotion of academic excellence through the quality of educational programs and research. These values resonate in the aims of the College of Engineering and Architecture which clearly states the importance of research-oriented education, enhancing the research culture in the most of engineering areas: computer, electrical, electronics, chemical, and petrochemical, civil, environmental, architecture and interior design and projects.
Accordingly, the academic education process in the College of Engineering and Architecture is designed to equip the students with proper knowledge and skills to become self-learners and research-oriented. Throughout various programs, the study plans have special courses to manifest the College and University aims to utilize some dedicated courses such as advanced topics, seminars, and final year graduation projects as parts of all academic programs. In addition to that, instructors enrich their courses with updated case studies to expand students’ knowledge and encourage them to search for knowledge and guide them to best apply it to serve the community.
The College of Engineering and Architecture believes that the full implementation of the College aims requires the conjugation of all the stakeholders’ efforts. This can be best implemented through the excellent teamwork spirit by all members of the faculty of the College of Engineering and Architecture
