The University is concerned of the health of all staff members, so Jana Medical Center was opened to offer services to all staff.  The Center treats patients from staff and students.  If there was a need for more check ups or a consultation of another medical source, the patient is directed to the suitable medical institution such as (Nizwa Hospital or any other specialized center in the private sector in Nizwa or in Muscat.)

The Center has elite of medical staff including physicians, highly qualified lab and   x-ray technicians.  It contains the following:

1.     Internal Clinic

2.     Gynecology, Obstetrics and Pregnancy

3.     Dentistry clinic

4.     Medical lab for all check ups

5.     X-ray and ultra sound unit

6.     Pharmacy for all needs of medicine

In cooperation with the National Life and General Company, the University was concerned to provide all kinds of health care.  All staff members can get free health and life insurance by enlisting his name as well as his family names consisting of his spouse and 3 children below 18 years old who really live with him in the Sultanate (for expatriate staff).  They can get the health treatment as soon as they finish the procedures for recruitment in the University.

• The non-Omani member staff pays only two Rials + 10% of the cost of the medicine and the University pays the rest of the cost  for treatment including the medical check ups, labs, x-rays and any necessary surgical or medical procedures.
• Health insurance for Omani staff encompasses only the staff member as well as life insurance.
• The Omani staff member pays only two Rials in addition to the cost of the medical check up + the cost of medicine and the University pays other costs of medical checks, labs, or x-ray or any necessary surgical procedures.
