A. Laboratories
Lab 1: Anatomy & Physiology Lab:

This lab contains a presentation board, data show, computer, Internet connections, human skeleton, miniskeletons, microanatomy series muscle fiber, artery and vein, kidney, digestive system, bone, liver), human skull pathological specimens, , models, and charts physiology recorders, student oscillograph, student spirometer, rat tail blood pressure recording unit, issue bath sets for isolated tissues with thermostat and stirrer, stimulators, analgesiometer (Eddy’s Hot plate), six – lead temperature recording devices, metabolic cages, respiratory pump for small animals, rabbit holder, rat holder and Heated stand for anesthetized rat. This lab has facilities to conduct practicals of anatomy & human physiology
Lab 2: Biology Lab:

This lab contains a presentation board, data show, computer, internet connections, binocular microscopes, slides, camera Lucida, soxlet extraction set, Rota vapor, TLC and its suppliers, PC chromatocarps, UV lamp, chromatographic columns, sprayers, steam distillation systems, water bathes, benches and stools, a laminar flow ,a refrigerator., culturing media, Petri dishes, straining baths and chemicals , glass apparatus and slides , histology sets for body systems, microscope slides for pathogenic bacteria and samples of medicinal herbs. This lab is used for practicals of biology, botany, histology, microbiology and pharmacognosy.
Lab 3: Chemistry Lab:

This lab contains a presentation board, projector, data show, computer, internet connections, colorimeters, spectrophotometer, electronic balances, pH-meters, water bathes (thermostated), centrifuges, burettes, pipettes, pH meters, centrifuges, electronic analytical balance, diagnostic test kits for various diseases and biochemical parameters, benches and stools. It is used for the courses of general chemistry, organic chemistry, analytical chemistry, biochemistry and pharmaceutical medicinal chemistry.
Lab 4: Pharmaceuticals Lab:

This lab contains a presentation board, projector, data show, computer, Internet connection, electronic balances, water bathes, mortars, suppository molds, capsule mold, sets of sieves, magnetic stirrers, homogenizer, hot plates, oven, QC set for solid dosage forms, a set for QC of suppositories, viscometers, stalygmometers and a coulter counter. This Lab is used for practicals of pharmaceutics, physical pharmacy, and clinical pharmacokinetics.
Lab 5: Pharmacy Practice Lab:

This lab contains a presentation board, Overhead projector, data show, computers, internet connections, CDs of Martindale, USPDI, BP, as well as other pharmaceutical and medical information systems, copies of Oman Drug List, copies of Pharmacotherapy, copies of Disease Management, copies Griffith’s 5-minutes clinical Consult, copies of Middle East Drug Index, copies of BNF, Copies on ODR, copies of PDR, copies of Martindale. It has samples for the majority of medicinal products in the sultanate of Oman. This lab is used for practicals of pharmacy practice, clinical pharmacy and therapeutics, and advanced clinical chemistry/ diagnostics.
Lab 5: Al Fekr Hall:
This computer lab offers 130 computers connected to the internet. It is used for preparation of presentations and computer courses. This lab helps students for preparing logbook of practicum, practical manual of pharmaceutics, pharmacy practice, clinical pharmacy and therapeutics, and graduation project.
Lab 6: Computer Labs
There are 8 computer labs each contains 32 computers with a total number of 256 computers. Each computer is connected to the internet. These labs are available for the students for teaching computer skills and for the preparation of presentations and graduation project.
Lab 7: Multimedia Lab:
There are 2 computer labs each contains 31 computers with a total number of 62 computers. Each computer is connected to the internet. These labs are available for the students for teaching computer skills and for the preparation of presentations and graduation project.
B. Classrooms:
There are 56 halls and classrooms for the teaching of different courses inside the campus as follows:
- There are two large lecture halls; the capacity of each is 220 students.
- There are two lecture halls; the capacity of each is 140 students.
- There are 12 large lecture classrooms; the capacity of each is 108 students.
- There are 30 large lecture classrooms; the capacity of each is 60 students.
- There are 10 large lecture classrooms; the capacity of each is 20 students.

The halls and classrooms differ in their areas to accommodate the required number of students. Each classroom contains a presentation board, data show, computer, internet connections, and comfortable chairs.
C. Library:
The central library offers an excellent environment for study. There are 2 separate areas inside the library; one for males and another for females. Instructions for the use of the library are available to students at various stages of study. The library opening hours are arranged to meet the needs of the students. There is an adequate space for housing the collection of textbooks. Library supports both the traditional paper-based textbooks and electronic resources.
For the first part, the library collection is enriched with the month 2000 collections. This collection does not include textbooks. The cataloging services are supported by a special integrated electronic system Virtue. Electronic resources, the University have acquired an E-library to support textbooks of 3300 English medium books. In addition the University has prescribed 3 data bases of over 50.000 full different text journals that date back 20-25 years. The system supports the electronic Encyclopedias.
Inside the library basic sciences, medical, pharmaceutical and general knowledge textbooks are available. Dictionaries, indexes, and references are available. E- Library with an access to 100s of scientific Journals is available to students for graduation project and presentations. There are many reading rooms which provide seating to students for study. Students have access to computer terminals to reach on-line catalogs. The library is equipped with photocopying facility for photocopying library materials of students.
D. Handout Photocopying Facility:

University of Nizwa offers all handouts to students free of charge. These handouts are given to the students at the beginning of each semester.
E. Information Technology Department:
University of Nizwa has a unique IT department. Inside this department, there are highly experienced personnel. This department offers all facilities to the students such as Lap tops by a comfortable loan & CDs. In addition, any faculty can own a Lap Top with 30% in price.
