The research conducted by Mr Ahmed Wameath Shawqi (Student, School of Pharmacy) and Dr Sabin Thomas (Assistant Professor, School of Pharmacy, Project supervisor and Co-author) was chosen for presentation at the plenary session of the Symposium.  The symposium was attended by 400  professionals from government and private health care institutions in the Sultanate. Mr.Ahmed Wameath was one among the 8 speakers including WHO representatives, Professors from International Universities and Administrators from Health care setups.

Directorate General Quality Assurance Center, Ministry of Health, organised the symposium at the Sheraton Hotel, Muscat on 17^th  September. The event was about Patient Safety: A Global Health Priority under the theme Polypharmacy.
