The Student Activity Center, represented by the university's theater and music group, is participating in the Lebanon International Theater Festival for Women’s Monodrama in its second session, which is scheduled to be held virtually from 22 to 24 May 2021 in Sur, Lebanon.

 

Several performances from Egypt, Tunisia, Cyprus, Sudan, Syria, the United Kingdom, Brazil, the Philippines, Iraq, Lebanon, the Kingdom of Morocco, Poland, Turkey, Australia, and Iraq will participate in this festival. The University of Nizwa will be the only representative of the Sultanate of Oman and the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council.

This festival is organized by the Tero Association for Performing Arts in cooperation with the Lebanese Ministry of Culture, as the festival was to be held with actual attendance; However, the political situation in the Occupied State of Palestine prevented it from actual attendance.

It should be noted that the play starring is the student Menna Allah Tariq Muhammad, from the College of Engineering and Architecture, and directed by the student Mather Al Abd al-Salam, and supervised by the group's supervisor, Basem Bushra.

This participation is the first of its kind in the group's theatrical performances, which is a show based on only one actor, taking the role of a different number of characters within the show, which requires higher acting skills.

The Lebanon International Mono Drama Women's Festival is a significant festival in which several professional actresses participate, which gives the participating student the ability to compete and benefit from them, the festival also includes honoring theatrical figures Lebanese and Arab women.
