The American Cultural Attaché visits the UNESCO Chair for Aflaj Studies at the university

As part of his visit to the University of Nizwa, the Cultural Attaché of the American Embassy, First Secretary Mark Bos and his accompanying delegation visited the UNESCO Chair for Aflaj Studies at the university. The delegation, accompanied by Dr. Abdullah Al Ghafri, was briefed on the aflaj exhibition to know about the Omani aflaj and its history, as well as an introductory trip to the Al Khatamine Falaj to have a look at the methods of constructing the aflaj, the main uses of its water and the story Bait Al Rwdah fort.









The visit included discussions of future cooperation between the UNESCO Chair for Aflaj Studies and American universities and research centers with common interests.The Cultural Attaché Mark Bos and his accompanying delegation expressed their happiness to visit the university and the UNESCO Chair for Aflaj Studies, hoping for more cooperation between the two sides in the near future.
