The summer school activities organized in the context of the research project "Academic Dialogue with the Islamic World" have opened at the German University of Bochum. Students from the German language department participate in this activity.

This trip is organized with the support of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) in the context of a full academic grant that the university received from the German Foundation for an academic research project, which deals with issues of diaspora literature and related terms such as the concept of homeland, alienation, cultural identity, and "I and the other". On the sidelines of the opening of the summer school, the students toured the University of Bochum, during which they got acquainted with the university's escort.

Students at the Opening

The students visited the Office of Foreign Relations and Foreign Student Affairs at the university and listened to a detailed presentation on the functions of the office, the services it provides to international students, and the mechanisms of admission and study at Bochum University.

The University of Nizwa has twinning agreements, academic cooperation, and student exchange with the German universities of Bochum and Göttingen. This is the second visit of the university students after they made an exploratory scientific visit to the universities of Bochum and Göttingen last November.

Within the framework of this twinning, the University of Nizwa will participate in the scientific project until the end of 2024.  A summer school will be organized at the University of Nizwa in the coming spring 2024.
