The university chancellor received Prof. Simon Gibbons, a visiting professor of Natural Product Chemistry at the Natural Products Discovery center, Liverpool Johan Moores University, with the presence of Prof. Ahmed Al Harassi, Vice-chancellor for Postgraduate Studies, Scientific Research, and External Relations, and a number of the concerned members of the university units.

The meeting discussed the possible scientific cooperation between the two parties in terms of research and publications. The meeting included a talk presented by Prof.  Gibbons on photochemistry, not only for drugs and busting bugs, in AL Mashriqh hall.   

A tour was given to Prof. Gibbons in the Natural and Medical Sciences Research center guided by Prof Al Harrasi. This visit is an integrated part of the center’s non-research activity of hosting worldwide scientists to present their research findings and discuss the latest developments in the field.

Such activities enhance the center’s connection with scientists and institutions in the same field regionally and internationally. As the center has succeeded in creating around 50 active cooperation networks.
