    • About:

    Dr. Sadri received his PhD in organic synthesis from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in 2002. He completed BSc (Edu) and MSc (Chemistry) at the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. During his career Dr. Sadri received several awards such as NCI-USA fellowship and distinctions awards throughout his undergraduate and postgraduate studies. Dr. Sadri is also the editor of some scientific journals. Dr Sadri research work has been supported by different funding agencies including WHO-TDR, TWAS, WIOMSA, and TRC-Oman

    • Pharmaceutical Organic Chemistry، Pharmaceutical organic Chemistry introduces students to organic chemistry concepts that are relevant to the study of pharmaceutical molecules. The course gives emphasis on understanding and predicting chemical behavior and reactivity of pharmaceutical molecules. Among major topics covered in this course include structure and bonding, Functional group chemistry, stereochemistry, Acid and bases and introduction to organic reactions with emphasis on using pharmaceutical molecules as examples. Also included is a brief discussion on heterocycles.، 2021-date
    • Medicinal Chemistry I، This is an undergraduate course covering basic principles of discovery and design of new therapeutic compounds and their development into useful medicines. It discusses current approaches in lead discovery and optimization of its pharmaceutical, pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamics characteristics. It comprises detailed discussion on determination of structure activity relationship (SAR), Quantitative structure activity relationship (QSAR) and chemical principles governing drug receptor interactions. Furthermore, pathways for drug deactivation and elimination as well as the basic concept of prodrugs and their uses in drug delivery system are also discussed، 2011-date

    • The major research focus in my lab is biomedical research towards discovery of new anticancer and antidiabetic drugs. Our lab specializes on investigation of bioactive natural products from endemic medicinal plants and marine organisms dwelling in the sultanate of Oman. A part from the wet-lab experiments our group is introducing modern computational tools used in discovery of new drugs. Our effort in this category is devoted to structure-based design of small molecules for control of cancer and diabetes mellitus
