  • As a highly skilled academician, Dr. Atieh has a solid educational foundation. He got the general secondary certificate (Tawjihi) in the scientific stream with an average (81.7%). Then, he got the bachelor degree with a major in Accounting and a minor in Computer Science from Yarmouk University (Jordan) (World University Rankings: Times: 1001-1200, QS: 1201-1400, and Shanghai: N/A) with an average (86%), rating (Excellent), and rank (The Second). After that, he got the (MBA) degree in Accounting from University of Jordan (World University Rankings: Times: 601-800, QS: 591-600, and Shanghai: 701-800) with an average (3.42 out of 4), rating (Very Good), and rank (The First). Next, he got the (PHD) degree in Accounting from Newcastle University (United Kingdom) (World University Rankings: Times: 139, QS: 122, and Shanghai: 201-300). Dr. Atieh got a PhD Scholarship from Al-Zaytoonah University (Jordan) for (4) years (US $169,492), and an appreciation certificate with the International Research Scholarship (IRS) from Newcastle University (UK) for (3) years (UK £6,000). In the master program, he got an appreciation certificate with a scholarship for one semester (US $282). In the Bachelor program, he got an appreciation certificate with a financial prize (US $141) from His Majesty King Hussein Bin Talal (May Allah Almighty Bless His Soul). Dr. Atieh demonstrates potential for excellence in both teaching and research. With his long academic experience as a doctor in Arab Open University (Jordan) and Al-Zaytoonah University (Jordan), as an instructor in Yarmouk University (Jordan) and as a lecturer in Delmon Academy (Bahrain) in affiliation with Arab Academy (Egypt), and as a research assistant in University of Jordan, he has taught (19) undergraduate courses and (7) postgraduate courses in the following wide areas: financial accounting, managerial accounting, auditing, accounting information system and research methodology. Teaching is through the medium of English. It is worth noting that he participated in Erasmus+ Staff Mobility Program for Teaching (Poland). Dr. Atieh published a journal paper in SSCI Clarivate Analytics and many journal papers in Scopus. Additionally, he published many papers in diverse conferences. Furthermore, he authored (3) books. Moreover, he finished (3) research projects with funding of (US $30,989). In addition, he supervised many postgraduate students in their master dissertations, and he was a member in the Dissertation Examination Committee for many students. Also, he was a member in the Comprehensive Exam Committee for the Master programs of Accounting and MBA. Dr. Atieh`s university administrative experience is as follows: Head of Accounting Department, Assistant Dean for Quality Affairs, Head of the Faculty Accreditation and Quality Assurance Office, Acting Head of Evening Studies Department, and Representative of Accounting Department. Also, he participated in (11) committees. Dr. Atieh has professional experience as a financial director and as an auditor.

    • ACCT101 - Introduction to Accounting، This is an introductory course in accounting and focuses on using accounting information, preparation and interpretation of accounting data, nature of assets, liabilities and capital, understanding accounting reporting process, calculation of business profits and losses and preparation of financial statements for sole proprietors. This course shall enable the students to handle task of accounts assistant at junior level.
    • ACCT206 - Financial Accounting I، This course is an in-depth examination of the Theory, Principles, Procedures, Practices and issues associated with items presented on Financial Statements, with emphasis on adjustment and opening closing entries necessary before the presentation of Final Accounts. On completion of this semester the learners will be able to manage accounts of any sole trading organization and thus best suitable to handle the position of accountant.
    • ACCT308 - Corporate Accounting، This course relates to the preparation of financial statements for companies and corporate bodies. This course is expected to cover the application of International Accounting Standards (IFRS) and disclosure requirements. The students will understand the issue, redemption, forfeiture, re-issue of forfeited shares and securities.
    • ACCT 454 - Internship in Accounting، An internship experience provides the student with an opportunity to explore career interests while applying knowledge and skills learned in the classroom in a work setting. The experience also helps students to gain practical knowledge in the field accounting profession, a clear sense of what they still need to learn and provides an opportunity to build professional networks.
    • ACCT455 - Graduation Project in Accounting، This course emphasizes on developing research and problem-solving skills among the undergraduate students. The students will work on a self-defined research project supervised by a faculty member. The students will be trained on how to do the research project. The students will identify a research problem and prepare a well-defined research proposal. The students are expected to conduct literature review, develop research questions, objectives, and appropriate methodology; collect and analyze data and present the findings in an appropriate form. The students are expected to prepare a well-defined project report covering all aspects followed by a presentation on the same. This course is to be completed in two consecutive regular semesters fulfilling all requirements of the course in accordance with the Graduation Project Guidelines.
    • ACCT631 - Accounting for Extractive Industries (Master of Accounting)، This Accounting for Extractive Industries course provides the essential financial knowledge and skills to enable students to successfully handle accounting and finance issues and to prepare, understand and evaluate financial accounts for the Mining and Oil & Gas industry. It focuses on the finance and accounting issues specifically affecting the industry including: IFRS 6 Exploration for and Evaluation of Mineral Assets, Accounting Approaches, The “Successful Efforts” (SE) and “Full Cost” (FC) Method, Accounting for Reserves, Resources & Assets.
