    • Architectural Design I، Architectural Design I course starts with an understanding of the volume and the 3D composition in architecture, space and form and their expressional values. This course is a transition from the abstractive state to the architectural values ; assimilate realize the human scale and its application in simple residential building types ;A study of small building spaces and their functional, and spatial requirements, with the application of design principles and elements, and the use of furniture in small projects . the design concepts should be generated and developed by students taking into account building materials and structure. Examples of projects – Residences, restaurant, coffee shop, etc
    • History of Architecture I، History of Architecture course is an introduction to the chronological development of Architecture from Pre-Historic to Pre Industrial Revolution; through Mesopotamian, Egyptian, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Greek, Roman, Byzantine, Gothic, Renaissance, Rococo, and Colonial Architecture, highlighting the development of structural systems, building materials, construction and other building systems. The focus of this course is on developing an understanding of building material use, and of creating an appreciation to the factors that contribute to the development of the unique architecture of the various cultures throughout history.
    • Engineering Drawing، This course covers the concept of engineering drawing and methods of drawings, identification types of engineering drawings and introducing sections, scales and dimensions. Topics include: Lines, lettering and sketching, Triangular and polygon drawing. Drawing tangential arcs and ellipses, orthogonal projection drawing and isometric projection drawing.، 2010-2018
    • Architectural Design II، Architectural Design II course is a transitional stage which moves the student from the abstract nature design to more extensive and realistic design with the emphasis on locality and Omani culture. First a simple project to be designed to recalling information given to the student in the previous courses. Then a kindergarten project to be designed. The aim of this project is to identify the design limitation, function and functional relationships, environmental control systems, structure and structural systems and methods, international and local building materials. Examples of projects – Kindergarten, small souq or market, students center, department store, etc
    • Architectural Design III، Architectural Design III course focused on the design of small public buildings (such as cultural clubs, Museums, or Exhibitions). The aim of this project is to understand the principles of design of public and general use building which contain small, medium, and sometimes large size spaces. This project devolves the students from thinking of buildings with formal characteristics with bearing walls to other building styles which employ new structural systems. Examples of projects - cultural clubs, Museums, Exhibitions, community centre, library, etc
    • Materials and Building Construction I، Materials course is an introduction to building materials & technology, international & national building material, the factors affecting the choice of these materials and their types. Properties, behavior, and selection of building materials including stone, brick, wood, cement, concrete, steel, masonry mortars, and finishing materials; Structural and architectural use of traditional and modern building materials; Introduction to basic methods of building construction: walls, foundations, beams and columns, partitions, flooring, and roofing. An introduction to the various Architectural building construction systems, methods and their advantages including; foundation, wall systems, roofing, flooring, finishing, services etc.
    • Architectural Design IV، Architectural Design IV course focused on the design of large scale buildings (such as academic building or complex, commercial or medium scale industrial buildings, and leisure centers) which contain small and medium spaces (such as lecture theatres and multipurpose halls). The aim of this project is to understand the principles of design of building which contain small, medium, and sometimes large size spaces. This project helps the students to think of large span building which employ new technology and structural systems (concrete and steel structures). In this project some enlarged architectural building construction details taken from the building construction courses to be employed. Examples of projects – International schools, cultural theatre, School of architecture
    • Architectural Design V، Architectural Design V course focused on the design of multi-storey buildings (Office building, high, low, or medium rise housing, or academic building). The aim of this project is to understand the principles of multi-storey building design and the structural system used (concrete or steel structure). This project devolves the students from thinking of buildings with formal characteristics with bearing walls to other building styles which employ new structural systems. Examples of projects – Commercial complex, Apartment Design, Office complex
    • History of Architecture II، This course is a continuation of History of Architecture-I to study the chronological development of Architecture from Industrial Revolution to Hi-Tech & Futuristic; through, Post Industrial revolution, Schools of thoughts, Art Novae, Rationalism, Functionalism, Socialism, Modernism, Organic architecture, International Style, Post Modernism, De-constructivism etc, high-lighting the development of structural systems, building materials, construction and other building systems. The focus of this course is on developing an understanding of building material use, and of creating an appreciation to the factors that contribute to the development of the unique architecture of the various materials and technology.
    • Architectural Design VI، The program of this semester aims to increase the capability of the architecture students, by transfer his mind from thinking of single building project to relating group of buildings and to the urban fabric of the city. This to be done by: knowing how to deal with urban design and the connection with the city fabric, visual axis and movement axis, and the effect of the urban fabric characteristics of a specific area or zone on the building. This is to be done by having two main projects: The first project with multiple functions and multi-story buildings, with different sizes functions. (such as Supermarkets and shopping Centre, connected with a bank or multi-purpose hall with a high rise office building or multi story housing) ;and the second project is bigger and more complicated (such as Hospitals, or academic project (university, college or part of it). Examples of projects – Hospitals, hotel, campus design
    • Landscape Design، Landscape Design is both creative and scientific The course is an introduction to landscape construction materials and their use in design; includes principles and techniques for detailed design of site elements; Introduces the principles and techniques of road alignment, including horizontal curves, vertical curves, and super elevation; principles and techniques of site scale layout and dimensioning; student will study landscape materials and technique, landscape and urbanism theory and practice.
