Dr. Maria Elisa Linda T. Cruz has an extensive background in education, quality management, and research that spans over three decades. Her expertise lies primarily in the fields of Information Systems, Information Technology, and Business Management. She served as the Dean of the School of Information Technology at Saint Paul University Philippines. Moreover, Dr. Cruz broadened her horizons by completing a certificate program in Community College Instruction in Canada. This achievement further solidified her commitment to continuous learning and professional development. She previously worked as a Lecturer at the Higher College of Technology in Muscat, Oman, where she held various positions such as the Head of Information Systems and Multimedia Section and Chair of different academic and quality assurance committees. In addition to her current role as Associate Professor and Academic Development Officer in the Office of the Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs (OVCAA) at the University of Nizwa, Dr. Cruz undertakes several academic service roles, serving as committee chair and as a member of various institutional committees. At the OVCAA, she develops academic policies, guidelines, and manuals, and plays a vital role in accreditation, educational enhancement, and strategic teaching and learning initiatives with the Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs. Before joining the OVCAA, she served as the Assistant Dean for Quality Assurance in the Deanship of Quality Management at the University. With her deep knowledge, diverse international experience, and unwavering dedication to academic excellence, Dr. Cruz is a trained and fully capable external reviewer appointed by the Oman Authority for Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance of Education (OAAAQA), academically and administratively equipped to support and advance quality management in higher education. Dr. Cruz holds multiple academic degrees and has earned two Doctoral degrees, two Master’s degrees, and two Bachelor’s degrees in Information Technology and Business Management. Furthermore, she is actively involved in research and has presented and published work in the fields of information technology, information systems, business management, and education. She has been recognized with awards for her research. Her specific interests include data mining, data analytics, information systems development, total quality management, student employability, and related areas. She also serves as a peer reviewer for high-impact journals.
