an assistant professor in the Department of Mathematical and Physical Sciences at University of Nizwa. Prior to that, he worked as a faculty member at the Sultan Qaboos University, Oman and University of Karachi, Pakistan. He has graduate and post graduate degrees in Statistics from University of Karachi, Pakistan respectively in 1978 and 1980. In addition to theoretical contributions in statistics his current research interests are in the area of statistical quality control, biostatistics, statistical epidemiology. He has published two books from reputed international press: First book entitled Statistics in Epidemiology: Methods, Techniques and Applications (coauthored with Professor Hardeo Sahai, University of Puerto Rico, USA) was published in 1996 by CRC Press, Florida, USA. In January 2002, his second book entitled Pocket Dictionary of Statistics (coauthored with Professor Hardeo Sahai, University of Puerto Rico, USA) was published by McGraw-Hill /Irwin Illinois, USA.
