Dr. Shamsudheen Arumathadathil joined the Department of Economics and Finance, University of Nizwa, in 2013 as Lecturer. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the School of Studies in Economics, Vikram University, Madhya Pradesh, India, with doctoral research focused on Trade Between India and Africa. He has collaborated with faculty at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, USA, to establish virtual classrooms linking the University of Nizwa with international partners. His primary academic interests lie in international economics. With over 17 years of teaching experience, Dr. Arumathadathil has served in reputed institutions, including Debre Markos University (Ministry of Education, Ethiopia), the Department of Economics at Calicut University Centre (UT of Lakshadweep, India), the School of Distance Education at the University of Calicut, and Government College Kodenchery (affiliated with Calicut University, India). He also held the position of Head of the Department of Economics at the Calicut University Centre, UT of Lakshadweep, India. He has consistently demonstrated academic excellence, being a first-class student throughout his studies. He earned his Master’s degree in Economics from the Department of Economics (Dr. John Matthai Centre), University of Calicut, and his BA and B.Ed. in Economics from the same university. In addition, he qualified the State Eligibility Test (SET) conducted by the Government of Kerala.
