1. A bachelor`s degree in Food Science or closely related fields such as Biology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Food nutrition, or Pharmacy. 2. A GPA not lower than 2.5 on a 4.0 grading scale. Candidates with a lower GPA (2.0) can be accepted provided that he has two (2) years of experience in the field of specialization. 3. Acceptable level of English proficiency proof (IELTS 6). Applicants can enroll in the foundation program to improve their efficiency in English and obtain the required score. 4. Pass the interview.

DESCRIPTION:

The MSc in Food Safety at the University of Nizwa UoN is a comprehensive graduate-level academic program designed to equip individuals with the necessary scientific, regulatory and technical knowledge skills to ensure the safety and quality of food products.The program consists of three consecutive semesters with 30 academic credits typically following a standard academic structure. The program addresses critical aspects of food safety and hygiene, food analysis, food laws and regulations, food risk analysis, and practical applications in food product formulation and inspection. Throughout the program, students would learn the principles of food sciences, food testing, food microbiology and intoxication, food risk management, food safety management tools, food regulations, and food inspection. An integral component of the MSc program at the University of Nizwa is focused on the regulatory framework and the applicable food standards. The program explores emerging trends and technologies in the food safety landscape. The program is essential for professionals working in roles such as food inspectors, quality control, regulatory affairs, health safety, environment, and food processors.

نبذة عن البرنامج

برنامج أكاديميّ مصمّم خصيصًا لتقديمه كبرنامج جديد يطرح في قسم اللّغة العربيّة بجامعة نزوى، وهو مكوّن من مسارين: مسار الدّراسات اللُّغويّة، ومسار الدّراسات الأدبيّة والنّقديّة. يتيح البرنامج الدراسة بنظامي التّفرّغ الكلّي أو الجزئي، ومجموع ساعاته (90) ساعة معتمدة؛ منها 30 ساعةً معتمدةً للمقرّرات الدّراسيّة؛ مقسّمة على: 21 ساعة للمقررات الإلزامية والمشتركة حسب المسار الذي يختاره كتخصّص دقيق (الدّراسات اللّغويّة، أو الدّراسات الأدبيّة والنّقديّة)، و9 ساعات للمقررات الاختياريّة. يقدّم الطالب مقترحًا بحثيًّا لأطروحة علميّة حسب المسار الذي يدرسه، ويكون تسجيل الأطروحة والبدء الفعلي في إعدادها بعد إكمال المقرّرات (في الفصل الرابع)، ويخصص لها (60 ساعة معتمدة). يشترط أن تقدّم الأطروحة مساهمة واضحة في مجال اللغة العربية وآدابها، كما يُشترط على الطالب نشر ورقة علميّة على الأقل، مستلّة من أطروحته، في مجلة دوليّة متخصصة ومحكّمة، أو الحصول على قبول نشر، وذلك قبل إقرار جاهزيّة أطروحته لإجراءات التّحكيم والمناقشة.

شروط القبول

1. 
   الحصول على درجة الماجستير في اللغة العربية وآدابها من جامعة معترف بها من قبل وزارة التعليم العالي والبحث العلمي والابتكار، بمعدل تراكمي لا يقل عن 3 نقاط من نظام قياسي يتكون من أربع نقاط أو ما يعادله بأي نظام آخر معتمد ومعادل في عمادة البحث العلمي والدراسات العليا ووزارة التعليم العالي والبحث العلمي والابتكار.
   


2. 
   الحصول على درجة الماجستير بنظام الرِّسالة، ويمكن قبول طلاب نظام اختبار الكفاية الشامل في البرنامج شرط استيفائهم درجة 70٪ في اختبار تحريريّ يخضعون له.

   اجتياز مقابلة علميّة بنجاح.
   


4. 
   تقديم تصور بحثيّ يبيّن قدرة الطالب البحثية.
   


5. 
   تقديم رسالتي توصية من أكاديميين، توضّح كفاءة المتقدّم العلمية، وقدراته البحثيّة.
   


6. 
   تقديم ما يثبت حصول الطالب على ما لا يقل عن (4.5) في اختبار الايلتس أو ما يعادله.

   خطاب تفرغ لطلاب نظام التّفرّغ الكلّي.

Program Objectives

1. Empower students with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills to work as laboratory technicians in different laboratory settings (medical, pharmaceutical, environmental, and industries).


2. Develop student skills in research and ethical principles in laboratory sciences.


3. Enable the students to pursue higher education or embark on a professional journey in environmental, clinical, school, municipality, food testing laboratories, and geomicrobiology.


4. Develop a skilled workforce of Oman.

Admission Requirements

1. Bachelor`s in Chemistry, Biology, or Physics certificate or equivalent.


2. With a CGPA of 2.5/4.0; students with a lower CGPA can be accepted if they have 2 years of work experience.


3. English proficiency: minimum IELTS level 5.5 or equivalent.
